Download CCleaner here If MSN Explorer stops responding while you are chatting with friends or logging in, then you may have encountered some issues with your computer. This could be due to a software conflict or hardware problem that has caused Windows to stop responding completely.  The first thing you should do when trying to prevent freezing is to free up space on your hard drive. If there isn’t enough room for all of the programs running on your computer at once, then one of them may stop working properly or shut down completely.

Why does MSN keep freezing?

There are a number of reasons why MSN keeps freezing. Some of the common causes include:

Outdated program – The most common reason why MSN will freeze is because of an old version of the program installed on your computer. If this is the case, then updating the software should solve your problem. Too many active programs – Another reason why MSN may freeze is if there are too many programs open at once on your computer. This will overload it and cause it to crash. Closing some programs down may help prevent this from happening again in the future. Insufficient memory – Your computer might be running low on memory or resources. If your computer has just a few megabytes of free memory (RAM) or is too old, it may not have enough memory or processing power for the task at hand. Virus infection – It is possible that you may have been infected with a virus or spyware. This can happen if you are not careful when downloading files from the Internet. You should not download anything from an unknown source because there could be a virus in the file that will infect your computer.

Other reasons include an outdated OS which you can easily update to the latest version. Quick Tip: The Opera browser is an excellent alternative to MSN Explorer because it includes mail, a player for audio and video in the sidebar, and a password manager. When MSN Explorer fails to respond, switch to Opera, with all of your bookmarks and stored passwords, and use this well-organized browser for productivity.

How do I fix MSN explorer not responding?

1. Close all other programs

Make sure that your computer isn’t running any other programs when you try to open MSN Explorer. Too many programs running in the background will affect the performance and speed of your computer. SPONSORED If another program is running at the same time as MSN Explorer and uses up too much memory or CPU power, it could cause problems with the browser hence the need to close them.

2. Update MSN

Simply uninstall and reinstall the program. This usually fixes any problems that might arise from an update or just starting up the computer.  You can uninstall it from the Control Panel and then go back to the official MSN website to download it again.

3. Scan for viruses

Are Internet Explorer and MSN the same thing?

The answer is no. Internet Explorer is a web browser that comes with Windows, but MSN is an online service that allows you to chat with friends, play games, and check email. You can use MSN without having to install Internet Explorer. Because of this difference in functionality, Internet Explorer and MSN can be used at the same time. For example, you can use Internet Explorer to surf the web while also using MSN Messenger to chat with friends. It is worth noting that Internet Explorer has since been discontinued and replaced by Microsoft Edge but you can still continue using Internet Explorer if you wish to.
